Name this sammich!

What do you get when you cross French toast with grilled cheese?








We're gonna need your help to give this simple sandwich a name...






2 slices of bread
slice of cheese
one egg, beaten
pat of butter
salt and pepper to taste




Get a light toast on the bread









soak one side of each bread slice in egg













cook the egged side of the bread in a pan on medium heat










place the cheese slice between the cooked egg














you might be tempted to scramble up the remaining egg and add it to the sammich...



don't bother, it just makes the cheese messy:)

As I was finishing this box, I noticed that it has an irregular shape! The corners are not squared off---on the bottom or the lid.

Well.... that's weird.

So I've decided to reduce it by 40%

Probably the new owner of this small chest will never notice the flaw; but they will appreciate the 'glowing' blue glass bead on top and the Old World map inside!

Me, Myself and Chi

Sometimes I find myself in great wonderment and feel very inquisitive. It's not difficult for me to tune into my Chi, but it's always a challenge to harness it. My husband Jody calls it En Fuego. My brother Mike calls it his Quantum. I call it Dialed In!

The World's Biggest Show and Tell

I've spent a good many hours lately on the website Instructables !

Like a cross between youtube and halfbakery with lots of tutorials, ideas, and step by steps

It's a great place to share with other crafters, fabricators, mods, and assemblers. Like so many who work with their hands, they are fascinated by tools and materials. Also, if you like contests...you're gonna love Instructables.

Found this fascinating spider in my garden today...

His web is about 4 feet across

with a zigzag design

right in the center

so, I call him Zipper

It's known as St. Andrews Cross, because of the way it holds it's legs in a cross and hangs upside down in the web. The large white zigzag in the centre of its web is called the stabilimentum or web decoration

In North America, Argiope aurantia is commonly known as the "black and yellow garden spider", or "writing spider," after the mistaken idea web stabilimenta were correspondence.

It has been shown spider webs using stabilimenta catch, on average, 34% fewer insects than those without. However, webs with the easily-visible markings are damaged far less frequently by birds flying through the web.

It is an evolutionary tradeoff the spider can influence every time it builds a new web. The inclusion of stabilimenta is influenced by many factors, including prey density and web location

They're not dangerous to humans, but they do produce about 1400 babies!

This web actually had 2 spiders and I suspect they are planning a family.

Bury Your Problems?

hmmmm....I was contacted by a film company in Los Angeles to burn a sign with an odd message:



They wanted to have the sign created and shipped in one week, so it can be used as a prop in their production: Signature Series. So, I gave the project my full attention and found myself wondering how this sign will fit into their storyline. The sign was shipped on time, and I hope it fulfilled it's purpose.

So maybe my sign will be traveling the country, in search of problems:)

How refreshing to find a new site for selling crafts!

I'm quickly putting my best inventory on the new selling venue..


so I can establish my shop and build a good business there!

Made it Myself doesn't allow dealers of any kind, which keeps the product offerings more inline with what shoppers will expect.

And that handmade purity will make it possible for crafters to prosper without diluting the listings from resellers and dealers.

This couldn't come at a better time for my shop, Edge of the Wildwood!
I can ease out of my role on Etsy, and perhaps maintain that shop for custom orders, vintage items and supplies.




Made it Myself will go through some growing pains, and I'm ready to work with them to develop a new marketplace that accepts only handmade items.







I'm prepared for the long run.
