Angel Lush recipe

Recently, my momma gave me a simple recipe for Pineapple Angel food cake: Box of Angel Food cake mix + can of crushed pineapples----mix and bake! The juice from the pineapple can replaces the water and adds flavor.

Then I remembered that I have a recipe for Angel Lush; recipe that uses a bakery round Angel Food Cake. It doesn't require baking, but it takes an hour to chill

  • 1 C. frozen nondairy whipped topping

  • 1 box vanilla pudding mix (4 serving)

  • 1 can crushed pineapple in juice - undrained (20 oz.)

  • 1 bakery round Angel Food cake

  • 1 C. fresh berries (optional)

combine dry pudding mix and pineapple with juice

gently stir in whipped topping

slice cake horizontally into 3 layers

place botton cake layer on serving plate

top with 1/3 of pudding mixture

repeat layers until cake is rebuilt

chill cake for one hour, top with berries to serve

refrigerate the leftovers

Take 3 minutes to watch this video (click to start video) on that demonstrates the layering process. Angel Lush is rated 5-stars on their recipe section! *****

Strike Up a Cure

My Dear Husband, Jody was invited to bowl in a special
Celebrity Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

His team had Chris Sanders (former Titans player) and Ahmad Hall (Titans fullback) along with several friends from the old neighborhood. They must have thought Jody was a ringer when he rolled in with a custom ball bag and at least 4 bowling balls. Ok, so maybe he was a ringer...

'there is no defense in bowling, Rick...'

nice form!

Jody bowled a 268 in the 2nd game to WIN the "High Game" prize: 32" HDTV!

so...I can just walk right out of here with this? cool!

And we later found out that his team also won the overall high score for the event! yaaahooo

I'm very proud of Jody, and I'm sure he'll enjoy his new fancy, dancy TV set with iPod station. It was a thrill for me to be there and meet the pro athletes and local personalities:)

The Mayo Mask

As part of our TOUGH TIMES show on Blockhead Radio, I selected a helpful household tip to try out and fill you in on the results. This week's experiment

The Mayo Mask:

use mayonnaise as a facial mask for soft, moist skin

This experiment started out pleasant with cool, creamy mayo

After spreading the condiment, I enjoyed a refreshing and not too sticky face

In just a few minutes (the original tip called for a 20 minute set) the warmth of my skin caused the mayo to 'melt' so I decided to bail out

The smell was suddenly very bad

Good thing I removed the goo when I did, becasue it was causing redness! oh my!

even 30 minutes after the treatment, my skin was still irritated.

But don't worry about me... I'm alright:)

In the final report, Mayo Mask did not prove it's beauty powers on me---and I'd recommend a sammich instead.

Thanks to all the listeners on BHR for sending in those thrify tips! Special thanks to my co-host, and BHR's Biggest Stalker.... Marie with Skyline Candle Co.

there's a hole in my sidewalk

Autobiography in Five Short Chapters

By Portia Nelson

I walk down the street.

There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.

I fall in.

I am lost

.... I am helpless.

It isn't my fault.

It takes forever to find a way out.

I walk down the street.

There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.

I pretend that I don't see it.

I fall in again.

I can't believe I am in this same place.

But, it isn't my fault.

It still takes a long time to get out.

I walk down the same street.

There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.

I see it is there.

I still fall in ...

it's a habit ...

but, my eyes are open.

I know where I am.

It is my fault.

I get out immediately.

I walk down the same street.

There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.

I walk around it.

I walk down another street

Explore this metaphor further at sidewalk

While sorting through some old boxes today, I found a lamanated copy of "Autobiography" It's easy to visualize the sidewalk and follow the thinking. The five short chapters are always printed in outline form, and it really caught my attention.
