heart of the house

The kitchen is much more than a place to prepare food. It's a hub of activity! These are some photos of my country kitchen in our NEW house. We haven't moved in yet, but I was able to take these photos recently.

Many a pie will be baked.

I'll be sharing more photos, and making plans for our little stone house.

Tough Times radio show

My friends at Blockhead Radio have been bouncing around the idea for a new show:

Tips for thrifty living called TOUGH TIMES

That's right, tough times they don't last...

but tough people do!

tough old hound dog

The listeners can share their money-saving ways and you'll always come away with a FREE smile, just for joining us. I've offered to host the new show and get things rolling with some ways to use common household products in a different way than it was maybe originally intended.

your new host gets it rollin'

TOUGH TIMES will be taking tips from our listeners, and sharing our experience as we try a new tip each week! Got some great tips for us? Give a comment. And be sure to get on Blockhead Radio for some TOUGH TIMES.

Shine through me

Dear Jesus, help me to spread Thy fragrance everywhere I go.

Flood my soul with Thy spirit and love.

Penetrate and possess my whole being so utterly that all my life may only be a radiance of Thine.

Shine through me and be so in me that every soul I come in contact with may feel Thy presence in my soul.

Let them look up and see no longer me but only Jesus.

Stay with me and then I shall begin to shine as you shine, so to shine as to be a light to others.

Puppy named BoBo

I recently came across this vintage stuffed animal: a puppy!

He's made of leather and has superb stitching which has proven to be very durable

It's a delightful little doggie....wants to play!

I thought you might enjoy meeting BoBo:)

Mac Daddy Sander

RYOBI! 4.3 amps 1/2 HP 53 lbs. belt/disc Sander is now setup in my workshop and ready to go. I'm already searching around for something big to sand...

This versatile sander will greatly reduce my labor on larger pieces, and allow for some precision work with the smaller stuff. With this long flat conveyor belt that tilts and the spinning disc on the side, it's very efficient and alot more powerful than the palm sanders I was using.

No more hand fatigue from palm sanding! No more wiggling out from clamps! But alot more sawdust ... since it doesn't have a dust collector.

I'd like to point out the locking casters that I got for 97 cents--- saved me from buying a $50 rolling base for the stand. Thank you SEARS.

I think I'll call it "Dusty" and work it hard.

porch talk

A perfect place for greeting . . . the side porch. A congenial area that invites you inside, and gives you a breather before entering. This friendly little stoop is attached to our new home in "the country".

The small square window in the lower left corner will be my new workshop---so I'll be sure to post before and after photos in my blog. I also plan to create some more video blogs from the new workshop.

Saint Theresa's Prayer

May today there be peace within.

May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be.

May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others.

May you use the gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.

May you be content with yourself just the way you are.

Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.

It is there for each and every one of us.
